Nautica Medicare Sdn Bhd (NAUMED) is a company appointed and authorized by the Marine Department of Malaysia to carry out inspection/vetting for Ship Medicine Chest compliance as per MLC 2006. This applicable to all Malaysian Flag Vessel as per Notis Perkapalan Malaysia (NPM 08/2013). The inspection/vetting guided by IMGS 3rd Edition. It aims at compliance and curbing previous practices which lead to wastage and unnecessary expenditure borne by ship operators on the purchase of certified drug list according to the suitability and requirements of the vessel as per IMGS

Nautica Medicare Sdn Bhd was established to provide audit inspection services for each vessel on behalf of the Marine Department of Malaysia for ships registered under Malaysia flag (Malaysian Flag) and also not under Malaysia flag (Non Malaysian Flag) operating in Malaysian waters to ensure that every vessel meets the requirements of the Medicine Chest as outlined by NPM 08/2013 in accordance with the requirements of the IMGS 3rd Edition for the necessity of supply of drugs on board in accordance with international guidelines (IMGS by WHO 2007)

The company has expertise in the field of shipping as well as medical where its director and management consists of those experienced in the field as well as Pharmacists and supported by medical advisory experts.

Despite challenges and setback, Naumed has a vision to become the leading company in ship vetting service provider. Range from medicine, medical consumables, medical equipment and any other medical requirement and books related to drug lockers, we at Naumed, will do our best to meet each customer needs. The company also provide on-board training and “Specific IMGS’ Training and plans to establish medical radio services to ship the vessel undergoing our vetting services other than providing guidance and sharing of knowledge on every inspection carried out on board.
